In Skrina, we like to work with craftsmen from the Ribnica Valley, where handicraft skills have been passed down from generation to generation for centuries.
At first, it was simple products made with saws, axes, and knives, but later the crafts became more and more complex. Usually, a single household or even a single village would confine itself to a single craft – making sieves, spoons, toothpicks, etc. Over time, the term “dry wooden ware” came to be used for all these crafts, and is still known in much of Europe today, with which the craftsmen of Ribnica have been involved since 1492, when the Austrian Emperor Frederick III gave them the right to trade.
In Skrina, we have used old craftsmanship skills to create objects and souvenirs that have a touch of the past and the present.
