The world-renowned artist Rosina Wachtmeister has been renamed the “cat artist” by fans of her sculptures. She was born in Austria, but later moved to Brazil with her parents, where she studied fine arts, sculpture and scenic design. Her uniquely designed cats are depicted on a wide range of useful objects, from porcelain statues and sculptures, to mugs, glasses, plates and jewellery. Despite the automation of production, making cats still requires a lot of manual skills and a combination of modern technology with traditional craftsmanship. The uniqueness of individual cats is further emphasized by their names, character traits, Swarovski® stones and small details.
