The Ljubljana bog is the landscape from Vrhnika past the southern slopes of Ljubljana all the way to Škofljica. The diversity offered by the Ljubljana bog in both flora and fauna is also reflected in the soil. It was this one, with its colorfulness and diversity, that attracted the painter Milan Lampet to choose it as his expressive material. Bright loam of various shades from ocher to orange-red, the famous black bog soil or very light, almost white sand are the substances that invite the artist to express his feelings. The roughness of the soil only increases the expressive power of this unique biotope, which the Ljubljanica River still floods from time to time. Swamp tulips start to bloom on moist meadows in April, sunflowers flourish in the fields in summer, the mower is heard in the tall grass and flies, mosquitoes and dragonflies are chasing over the streams. All this (and more) is reflected in the artistic creations offered to us by Milan Lampe.
