Sergej Hahonin, who moved to Slovenia from the former Soviet Union in 1992, has linked his artistic work to Slovenian culture and tradition.
He likes to paint landscapes, hayracks, and still lifes.
His »kurent« is based on a Slovenian folk tradition and, like the “korant” from Ptujsko polje, is dressed in fur.
And, as artists can generally afford a little “artistic freedom”, Sergej Hahonin drew the querent’s caps somewhat in his way and adding his originality and imagination to the colorful ribbons that decorate the top of the cap.
