The women’s kozjan costume has quite a few variations, but all of them have in common a white shirt buttoned up to the neck with widely gathered sleeves, which are cuffed at the wrists. A close-fitting bodice with a deep cutout under the bust is available in different colors. It is often bright red and matches red knitted socks, which are sometimes hidden by ankle-length black “half boots”. These are more the exception than the rule, \u00a0more common and more common are black, low buckle shoes.
\nA dark apron covers the wide, heavily gathered skirt and underskirt, over which a metal belt (buckle) with a ribbon and a bow is fastened.
\nEven a man’s leather costume does not go without a white shirt with a collar and wide, cuffed sleeves. It is covered by a short v-neck vest that fastens with metal buttons.
\nPants are generally long, dark and made of woolen fabric.
