Be\u0142a Krajina<\/em><\/strong> is characterized by the “Pannonian type” <\/em><\/strong>of national costume, which is fundamentally different from all other national costumes. Because of the color of the canvas, the Bela Krajina costume is also called the “white costume”.<\/em><\/strong> It is the closest in material and cut to the garments of neighboring peoples, especially the Hungarians and Zagorje Croats, but also the Czechs, Slovaks, and southern Poles.
\nThe men’s<\/em><\/strong> costume consists of a long white linen shirt \u00bbroba\u010da\u00ab <\/em>pressed together with a wide leather belt. Long and wide white trousers \u00bbbrege\u0161e\u00ab<\/em>\u00a0 are made of linen in summer and white cloth in winter. On the head is a black felt hat, with a red scarf around the neck.
\nThe women’s<\/em><\/strong> costume is a two-piece, consisting of a long linen shirt \u00bbople\u010de\u00ab<\/em> tucked into the waistband of a pleated, linen skirt \u00bbjanka\u00ab. <\/em>On the head is a \u00bbzavija\u010da\u00ab<\/em>, a triangular, twisted headscarf cut from linen, which is tied at the nape of the neck with free corners.
