Some versions have the skirts sewn together with a bodice, connected on the chest with a colorful ribbon. Over the skirt is an apron of different colors, black shoes are decorated with a buckle. All men's costumes have in common a white shirt, waistcoat and skirt that reaches a little above the waist, a wide-brimmed hat and shorts. The waistcoat used to be the most characteristic piece of Carinthian men's costume. The peasant costume took over from the Central European urban costume in a very short time and has been preserved until today. In addition to high boots, in Carinthia they also sometimes wore half boots that reached to the knees. Only some characteristics of the Carinthian costume are described.
