Raku blue bowl
Raku is a special type of ceramic that comes from Japan, more precisely from Kyoto, where in the distant 16th century, the famous master of the tea ceremony, Sen no Rikyu, was looking for an artist who would make a suitable cup for this solemn ritual.
Several potters participated, but Sasaki Chojirō made the cup that best suited the philosophy of tea drinking.
That is why they awarded him the golden emblem of Cancer, which means pleasure.
