The people of Krakovo were not accepted as townspeople, but their lucrative trading business allowed them to dress like townspeople. The men wore leather, loose trousers, and a silk waistcoat with silver buttons, and some wore a jacket with fur trim on the sleeves and at the neck. They wore high leather boots and a cylindrical hat decorated with a large buckle. The women were covered with so-called »auba«, made of velvet on the front, embroidered with gold thread, and trimmed with white lace. A wide silk ribbon tied in a bow was added at the back. Over the wide skirt, which was sometimes made of patterned fabric, they wore a silk apron trimmed with black lace, over which they also wore a so-called »sklepanc«. Some wore a chain around their necks. These are just some of the characteristics of the Krakovo costume.
