Some versions have the skirts sewn together with a bodice, connected on the chest with a colorful ribbon. Over the skirt is an apron of different colors, and black shoes are decorated with a buckle. All men's costumes have in common a white shirt, waistcoat, and skirt that reaches a little above the waist, a wide-brimmed hat, and shorts. The waistcoat used to be the most characteristic piece of Koroška men's costume. The peasant costume took over from the Central European urban costume in a very short time and has been preserved until today. In addition to high boots, half-boots reaching down to the knees were sometimes worn in Koroška.
