KONJIČEK GUGALNIK
The first toys in Slovenia were made of wood, as wood was a natural and easily accessible material. In the 19th century, wooden rocking horses were very popular – the only difference was whether they were home-made or bought. In the countryside, they mostly made them themselves, as the ones in the store were very expensive.
At the beginning of the 20th century however, they became a mass-produced item as evidenced by an advertisement in one of the Ljubljana newspapers of the time: “Beautiful, durable rocking horses, various sizes for sale. I make them to order.”
Due to the healthy natural material, wooden toys are more and more desirable, especially in ecologically conscious families.
In the SKRINA Etnogalerie, we have developed an assembled rocking horse for you, which is easy to transport and also suitable for sending by mail.
